AIOS Release Notes, September 2026: The AI Council, the Journal, Payments and Skills
Two weeks in which the family grew to five products, payments went live, and the AI Council opened to anyone. Chapter five of the AIOS release history.
13 September — AIOS 5.17 to 5.21: the Human–AI Council
- The AI Council. One question, answered by every configured AI model at one table — Claude, GPT, Gemini and Grok — each reading the others. Agreement is counted, not claimed, and a tie is put in front of you rather than quietly settled.
- A council session remembers, through a note, so a conversation can continue over several rounds.
- Clarifying questions with safeguards: a member may ask you something, but the table cannot interrogate itself in circles.
- Each model speaks in its own voice, and every answer is labeled with who gave it — in the note as well as on screen.
- The council is part of the paid plan, and it carries the same context selector as the rest of AIOS, so you always know what it can see.
14–15 September — AIOS 5.22 to 5.26
- Memories Journal, the second standalone app: one page a day, saved as an ordinary daily note, so a year of journaling opens in AIOS as a year of daily notes.
- Standalone apps are bought once, not rented — and included in any AIOS plan.
- The plan got sharper about time: an event is flagged as missed five minutes after it starts, anything starting in the next half hour moves to the top, and every timed item shows its time.
- Routines send reminders, and each reminder is sent once.
- One accent color for your whole account, shared across AIOS and its apps.
- Pick which AI answers. Choose a model in the prompt box, or just type "Hey Claude".
- The manual went public as illustrated How-To guides on caligoarts.com.
16–18 September — AIOS 5.27 to 5.33
- Routines typed by hand into the routines note are understood in far more phrasings, and a line that cannot be read is reported rather than ignored.
- Move a plan item to another day, or skip a routine for today, from the plan itself.
- Every product can be bought: monthly and yearly AIOS plans, and one-time purchases of each app, from the app and from its landing page.
- Watch the council think. Each member's answer appears as it lands, the table cross-checks for up to three rounds until it agrees, and you can skip straight to the answer.
- Flagship models at the council, with the prompt box kept as the fast, economical option.
- AIOS Review: a chief-of-staff read of the note in front of you — what to do first, what needs tidying, what is waiting on a decision. It advises and never edits.
- The council's ongoing log loads the whole conversation so you can pick it back up, and the council panel takes the full screen.
- Every AI conversation is filed where it can be found, and listed by what was asked.
19–21 September — AIOS 5.34 to 5.52
- The AI Council opened to the public at caligoarts.com/AI_Council: no account needed, pay per session, or one free question a day with a free account.
- Payments went live.
- Members look things up when a question depends on current information, and a page they could not read is reported as unread instead of guessed at.
- Council rounds are saved to your notes from either door, and a transcript can be shared or printed.
- Steer the council's memory: carry on the ongoing conversation or start fresh, drop a round from the log, and open any past session in full.
- Export a note as a webpage you own — one self-contained file with your own title, logo and theme, and no outside requests.
- Send an SOP for approval to whoever approves procedures where you work, with replies going straight to you.
- Paste lands exactly what you copied, with keeping the formatting as a one-press option.
- Yearly routines — "a birthday every year on 9/21" now works.
- An Interactions view with filters for council sessions, chats and daily conversations, and private projects that stay encrypted and out of AI's reach.
24–25 September — AIOS 5.53 to 5.56
- AIOS Skills, the third standalone app: level up real-life skills like a game, with fifty levels, a title at every level, learning paths, and a public profile you control field by field.
- Custom software services from Caligo Arts, with published price ranges.
- A full pass over the product's rough edges: clearer sign-in screens, one password that works in every app, and a lighter, faster site.
- Skills backs out one screen at a time, and its tabs no longer jump the page.
- The AIOS greeting leads with the time, and the site's menu now folds away before anything is cut off.
That brings the history up to today. New releases are added to News & Updates in the Developer's Notebook as they ship — or start from the beginning.
