The bit everyone puts off
The receipts pile up and the spreadsheet doesn't.
There is a shoebox, a glovebox, or a folder in your email. Every one of those pieces of paper is money you are allowed to claim, and every one of them costs you two minutes of typing you will not do on a Tuesday. So it waits until the quarter ends, and then it is four hours, and by then the ink on the thermal paper has faded and you are guessing.
The fix is not a better spreadsheet. It is not having to type the thing in the first place — while you are still standing outside the shop with the receipt in your hand.
Three steps, about fifteen seconds

Snap
Tap Scan a receipt and your camera opens. Take the photo. The image is stored in your own vault, not on a third party's server.
Check
The merchant, date, subtotal, tax, tip and total come back filled in — with the ones it had to guess outlined in amber so you know exactly which figure to look at. Fix anything, pick a category, add a note.
Forget
Save. The row joins your ledger and a log note lands in your notebook with the photo and the figures on it. At month end you press Export once.
What it actually does

It says what it guessed
Every field carries where it came from: read off a labelled line, worked out from the others, or guessed. And when subtotal + tax + tip adds up to the total, it tells you those three figures cross-check each other — the only signal that can catch a misread digit.
The spreadsheet is editable
Every cell — merchant, date, category, all four amounts, the payment method, the note. Thermal paper smudges and cameras shake; the point is that fixing it takes one tap, not a re-scan.
Notes on any expense
Who the client was. What the trip was for. Why this one is reimbursable and that one is not. It travels into the export and into the log note, so the answer is there in April.
Line items, not just totals
An itemised receipt comes back itemised, on its own sheet in the workbook. Useful the moment part of a bill is claimable and part of it is not.
Categories that are already right
It opens with the categories a small business actually files under — meals, travel, lodging, fuel, office, software, equipment, utilities, professional services and the rest. Rename them, reorder them, delete the ones you never use.
Every receipt is logged in your notebook
One note per receipt, filed under its category, carrying the photo and a table of the figures. It is a normal note — searchable, editable, yours — and it is the audit trail if a number is ever questioned.
It works with no signal
Installed to your home screen it opens and works offline. Receipts you scan without a connection go up when one comes back.
No AI is asked what your receipt says
The reading is done by optical character recognition on the server and a parser whose rules are fixed. Same photo, same answer, every time — and if a figure is questioned, the answer is always “because that line of the receipt said so”.
Your data leaves when you say
Export the whole ledger to Excel or CSV any time, in one press. Close the account and everything in it goes, including the photos.
The part your accountant sees
Three files, and one of them is a real workbook.

Filter by date range, by category or by search text before you export, so a client's trip or one quarter comes out on its own.
Straight answers
What it doesn't do.
It does not post to Zoho for you. It writes the file Zoho's own importer takes, and you upload it. A live connection needs credentials tied to your Zoho organisation; if you want that wired up properly for your business, that is the kind of thing we build.
It does not read every receipt perfectly. Nothing does. A creased, faded or badly lit receipt will lose a figure — which is exactly why the fields say which ones it was sure about, and why every one of them is editable before you save.
It does not do mileage, per-diems, approvals or credit-card feeds. It is a scanner and a ledger. If your business needs the rest of it, say so and we will talk about building it.
It is free to try and then it is paid. Register, open it, and the trial starts the moment you do — not when you signed up, so it is genuinely yours to use. After that AIOS Receipts is part of the paid AIOS plan, alongside the assistant and the writing tools. One account, one login, and nothing you logged during the trial goes anywhere: it stays in your notebook and you can still export the whole ledger.

Where do the photos go?
Into your own vault on the AIOS server, in your account's media store, and nowhere else. They are not sent to a third-party OCR service — the text is read on the same server that holds them.
Is it free?
There is a free trial, and the clock starts the first time you open the app rather than when you registered — so finding it months later does not mean you have already used it up. The app tells you how many days are left every time you open it.
After the trial it is part of the paid AIOS plan. Nothing you logged is taken away — the log notes are ordinary notes in your own notebook, and the export is still there.
Do I need a separate account?
No. AIOS Receipts signs in with your AIOS account. If you do not have one yet you can register from the sign-in page, and the same details get you the rest of AIOS.
Can I fix something it read wrong?
Yes, and that is the design rather than a fallback. Nothing reaches your ledger until you have looked at it, every field is editable then and afterwards, and anything it had to guess is outlined so you know where to look first.
What happens to a receipt I delete?
The ledger row goes. The log note in your notebook and the photo in your media both stay, and the app tells you so — deleting your own notes and files is your decision, not something a spreadsheet row triggers.
Does it work on an iPhone as well as Android?
Yes. It is a web app that installs to the home screen on both — Share then Add to Home Screen on iOS, or the install prompt on Android. It is also on Google Play as an installable app.
Can I get my data out if I stop using it?
Any time, in one press, as an Excel workbook or a CSV. You do not need an account in good standing or a support ticket to take your own expenses with you.
Multiple currencies?
Each expense carries its own currency and the totals are shown per currency rather than added together — a figure that mixes dollars and euros is wrong in both.
