Your Photo Album and Timeline

🎯 Purpose

AIOS keeps a private timeline of your life out of what you were already writing down. Every day you use the daily note, AIOS writes that day up as a post — what you got done, what was on, what you noticed, and any photographs you put in the note — and puts it at the top of a feed you can scroll back through for as long as you have been using AIOS.

You can also write posts of your own, lay photographs out to a template, caption them, and share one out if you want to. It is yours first and a social-media staging area second.

📋 Prerequisites

• You are signed in.
• For a daily post to be written, that day's note needs something in it. A day you never opened produces no post at all.

🚪 Where it is

• On a desktop: the Photo Album / Timeline panel in the right-hand column. It shows your most recent post in miniature — a thumbnail, its title and one line of it. Press the heading, or the miniature itself, and it fills the screen.

Which line it shows is decided in your favour, not by position. It is whatever you actually wrote, in this order: anything you typed at the top of the Daily Log, under the date and above the first section; then your Focus for Today; then on down the note. What you got done is the last thing it reaches for, not the first — a day of yours should not be summarised by a chore when you wrote a sentence about it. A post you made by hand has no sections, so it shows its own opening line.

• On a phone: the first card on the MORE page, with Quick Links under it. Tap the heading or the miniature to open.
• Before your first post there is also an OPEN button in the heading row, because an empty panel is one line of grey text and nothing that looks pressable. It goes away once you have posted — by then the picture and the title are the thing to press, and the button was taking a line away from them.

🔁 The two views

TIMELINE is the feed: every post, newest first, scrolling on for as long as you keep scrolling.

ALL PHOTOS is the library: every picture you have ever uploaded, newest first — including the ones that only ever went into a note and had nowhere to be seen before. Tap photos to pick them, then MAKE A POST and they arrive in a new post together.

Both views fill the screen. On a phone the album sits between the system bar and the bottom row of buttons, so you can always get back out.

Seeing a photograph properly before you pick it

A thumbnail is small and it is cropped to a square, so two pictures of the same thing can look identical. Press the ⤢ in the corner of any thumbnail and that photograph opens as large as it will go.

• ← and →, or the arrow keys, step through everything on screen — so it is a way of going through the library rather than something you open once per picture.
• PICK THIS selects it without closing the viewer, and the thumbnail behind it keeps up.
• Click the dark area, press ✕, or press Escape to come back. On a phone, the back gesture does it.

The same ⤢ is on every photograph in a post and in the editor, which is where you are deciding which picture deserves the big tile.

📝 The steps

Writing a post yourself

1. Open the album and press + POST.
2. Give it a title and write whatever you want in Words.
3. Pick a layout (below).
4. Press + ADD PHOTOS to choose from your library. Pick as many as you want, then MAKE A POST.
5. Caption any photograph by typing under it. Use ← and → to change the order — the order is the layout.
6. Give any photograph more or less room with AUTO / SM / LG under it (below).
7. Press SAVE POST.

Editing a post AIOS wrote

1. Find it in the feed and press EDIT.
2. Change anything: the title, the words, the layout, the photographs, the captions.
3. SAVE POST.

A day is written up once and is then yours. If you edit a post and later change that day's note, AIOS does not come back and overwrite what you wrote. That is deliberate — what would be lost is your own writing.

Sharing one out

Press SHARE on a post.

• On a phone the system share sheet opens and carries the pictures as well as the words, so the post really does reach whatever app you pick.
• On a desktop the words go to your clipboard and AIOS says so — there is no way for a web page to hand photographs to a social network without that network's own API, and AIOS would rather tell you than look like it posted something it did not.

Deleting one

EDIT the post, then DELETE POST. It asks first.

Your photographs are NOT deleted. They stay in your library and in any note they are in. Removing a picture from your machine is something only you do, from the note it lives in.

Giving one photograph more room

Under every picture in the editor there are three buttons:

It is an adjustment to the layout rather than a replacement for it, so the same choice does the sensible thing in all six. Posts you made before this all read as AUTO and look exactly as they did.

🤖 What AIOS puts in a daily post, and what it leaves out

It is written from your note when the next day's note is created — that is the moment a day is known to be over.

It goes in: anything you wrote at the top of the note, Focus, Schedule, Work Completed, Problems Solved, Decisions, Notes & Observations, Links, and every photograph in the note.

It stays out, and each for a reason:

• Empty sections. A day with nothing under Problems Solved does not get the words "Problems Solved" at all.
• The System Log. That is AIOS's audit trail — a record of the software, not of your day.
• Anything under Working with AIOS. That is the model's words, not yours.
• Tasks & Next Steps and Open Loops. Those are the not-done list, and they carry to tomorrow anyway — putting them in would show you tomorrow's to-do list at the bottom of today's post and again at the bottom of tomorrow's.
• Your repeating routines. They are the same every day, so they say nothing about this day. A one-off event on the same day is kept.
• A day with nothing to say. No post at all. A gap in the feed is honest; a run of empty posts is what makes a feed not worth scrolling.

Nothing is rewritten. Every line in a daily post is a line that was in your note, minus its bullet. AIOS chooses which lines; it never puts your day into its own words.

✅ How to verify

1. Open the album. If you have used AIOS for more than a day, there is at least one post titled with a date.
2. Press ALL PHOTOS. Every picture you have ever put in a note is there.
3. Pick two, press MAKE A POST, write a line, choose COLLAGE, and save. It appears at the top of the feed with the first picture on the big tile.
4. Look at the panel on the dashboard (or the top of MORE on a phone) — the miniature now shows that post.
5. EDIT it, change one word, save. Re-open it: your word is there.
