AIOS Skills

🎯 Purpose

Turn learning into a game you can see yourself winning: every lesson, recipe and goal earns experience, and every skill climbs from Novice to Master with a new title at each level.

📌 Prerequisites

• An AIOS account. The same sign-in opens AIOS Skills, AIOS Receipts, Memories Journal and AIOS itself.
• Nothing to install. It runs in a browser and installs like an app on a phone. In the AIOS dashboard it is the 🏆 SKILLS button beside Receipts.

🧠 What it is

A separate app at /skills/ with a profile of what you know: your picture in a circle at the top, your details beside it, and your top five skills — the ones you have earned the most experience in — underneath.

Experience comes from doing things. Each skill has quick Log it buttons for the things that count (cooked a brand-new recipe, paid off a debt, went for a run), and a learning path of lessons. Finish the first stage and the next, harder stage unlocks.

Levels and titles. Every skill has fifty levels, each with its own (usually silly) title — Cooking starts at Microwave Operator and ends at Grandma Would Be Proud. Above the titles are the ranks:

No AI decides your level. Levels are arithmetic over what you logged; the only AI in the app is the optional path writer below. Lessons point at a video search and a web search rather than at links that could go dead.

🪜 Steps — set up your profile

1. Open the app. The walkthrough shows you an example of the finished profile first, so you know what each step is for.
2. Take a selfie or upload a picture. It is cropped to a circle. You can skip it and add one later.
3. About you — name, a headline, a short bio, phone, email, location, website, your social links, and anything else you want to show. All optional; only you can see it.
4. Pick your starting skills. The life skills school should have taught — cooking, budgeting, writing, job hunting, home repair, car care, first aid and more — are ticked for you. Untick anything you do not want.

🪜 Steps — earn experience

1. Tap a skill to open it.
2. Log it: press one of the activity buttons. Type a thought first if you want one kept with it. For anything not listed, use Other and give it your own XP (5 to 500).
3. Learning path: tick a lesson when you have done it. ▶ Videos and 🔎 Read open searches for that lesson. When a stage is complete, the next one unlocks.
4. Add your own lesson at the bottom of the path — the recipe your friend sent, the course you signed up for.
5. A LEVEL UP! banner tells you when you reach a new level and title.

🪜 Steps — find a new skill

1. Press + Add a skill and search — "guitar", "taxes", "lockpicking".
2. Press Add. Its first lessons are ready straight away.
3. Not in the catalogue? Press Create and it becomes your own skill, with a starter path built from searches for its name.

🪜 Steps — a path written for you (AIOS plan)

1. Open a skill and press ✨ Write me a personal path with AIOS.
2. About half a minute later the path is replaced by four stages written for that skill. Lessons you already finished keep their XP in your history.
3. It works for skills you made up too — that is where it helps most.

🪜 Steps — your color

Open Edit profile and pick a color. It is one color for your whole account, so AIOS and its other apps change with it.

🪜 Steps — private view and public view

• What you see in the app is your private view — every detail, only for you.
• 👁 Public view shows exactly what a stranger would see. Under Edit profile → Public profile, switch on a public page, choose a handle, and tick what it shows. Phone, email and address start private. Turn it off and the page is gone.

🪜 Steps — in AIOS

Everything you do here also appears in AIOS as notes in a project called Skills — one note per skill and a My Skills summary — so AIOS can see it, search it and use it as context. Write your own notes at the bottom of those notes; AIOS never changes them. Your phone, email and address are not copied there.

🪜 Steps — goals and achievements

• Goals are things to hit: reach a level in a skill, by a date if you like. Tick one when it is done and it pays out its XP.
• Achievements are your own milestones — "Cooked Thanksgiving dinner". Tick it when you do it.
• Badges are earned automatically: first lesson, first level-up, a week-long streak and more.
• Journal lists everything you logged, newest first, with your thoughts. You can edit a thought or remove an entry (its XP goes with it).

✅ How to verify it worked

• The number on the skill card and the bar under it move after you log something.
• Your top five on the profile show your highest-experience skills, highest first.

🧯 If something goes wrong

• "Your free trial has ended" — the app is free for 14 days from the day you first open it, then $19 once (or included in an AIOS plan). Nothing you logged is lost; it is still there when you buy it.
• Removed a skill by mistake? Add it again — its history was kept, so your level comes straight back.
• Picture will not upload? It must be an image under 12 MB. It is re-saved as a square JPEG, and the location data a phone photo carries is removed.
