AIOS Release Notes, August 2026: The Open Beta
Eighty releases in eighteen days, almost all of them from using the product every day and fixing what got in the way. Chapter three of the AIOS release history.
14–16 August — AIOS 4.1 to 4.12: first contact with daily use
- The phone made usable: a layout built for one-handed use rather than a squeezed desktop.
- An editable calendar — add, change and finish events in place — and a guard that stops two devices silently overwriting each other's edits.
- The product documents itself. A library of how-to guides, written from the same source as the behavior it describes.
- The AIOS landing page, and the launch preparation around it.
- Event reminders, and resizable pictures in notes.
17–19 August — AIOS 4.14 to 4.25
- A tablet layout that agrees with itself on every browser.
- Community submissions: users can offer a procedure they wrote for publication.
- The editor can take the whole screen, and sign-up confirms your email address.
- The grammar bends to the user. A wider range of natural phrasing is understood, and when a request cannot be carried out, AIOS says why rather than failing quietly.
- The Schedule keeps up: editing a line's time re-times its event, and a routine survives edits to its own note.
- Moving a commitment to another time or day from a sentence.
- Caligo Arts begins offering AI integration services built on the same system.
20–21 August — AIOS 4.26 to 4.38
- Works offline. The app shell is cached on the device, notes can be kept there, and edits sync when the connection returns.
- Several commitments in one message — "call the dentist Tuesday at 9 and pick up the dry cleaning Friday" becomes two items.
- Routines that state their whole time span, and a plan that runs forwards through the day.
- The newsletter, with double opt-in, and self-service password reset.
- A full site audit and a beta-readiness pass.
22–24 August — AIOS 4.40 to 4.59
- One type scale across every screen, and the phone got its full viewport back.
- The plan can add items directly, projects can be pinned, and a keyboard bug on phones was fixed.
- The prompt builder, which turns a note into a ready-to-use prompt for other AI tools.
- The product demonstrates itself on the marketing page with a live, self-playing tour.
- The phone's back button closes things in order — one layer at a time — instead of leaving the app.
- A free AI allowance, and a referee that knows when not to run, so simple requests cost nothing extra.
26–30 August — AIOS 4.60 to 4.80
- Push notifications that reach a closed app, and a grammar that reads two days in one sentence.
- The note and the calendar agree in both directions: a change made in either shows up in the other.
- All-day events, multi-day events, and routines edited from either the note or the calendar.
- A guided tour a phone can actually take.
- Month, week and day views on the calendar.
- Every route tested as a second user, so no account can reach another's data.
- A news feed built from sources you choose, which works as a reading queue.
- Undo, links in notes, and text read out of a picture.
- Private notes encrypted at rest.
- Reminders on your own schedule: pick how far ahead each event reminds you.
- A much lighter site: modern image formats and compression cut the size of what the site sends dramatically.
